Meet Selena, owner and travel professional at Next Gate. Born on a naval base in Guam and raised as a military brat, travel was part of life early on.

Living in Germany, she experienced Europe firsthand—weekend drives to Paris, chocolate croissants, and winding roads through the hills are still nostalgic memories, especially when she revisits.

In college, she was the friend always planning and going on trips, even taking a test on the road to El Yunque in Puerto Rico—hotspot in hand, fully committed to both school and adventure. Her Type A personality when it came to planning meant she had a knack for organizing things seamlessly, always thinking ahead and making sure everything was in place for a smooth experience.

In 2021, Selena became a flight attendant for a charter airline, flying to places such as South Korea, Bahrain, and even back to Guam. But the fast pace wasn’t sustainable for her.

However, through this experience, she stayed in immaculate properties such as Oakwood Premier Incheon and Avani Pattaya Resort, with private limo rides to her destinations.

She also often flew out of private airports and terminals, where she saw families boarding their jets, heading off to new destinations and at times, even connecting with them over shared travel stories and experiences.

This shifted her perspective—travel could be intentional, elevated, and personal, sparking her desire to learn more about this style and work with like-minded individuals.

In 2024, she launched Next Gate to connect with others who value exploration and thoughtful, high-end travel, helping them plan experiences that feel personal, meaningful, and fun.
